This is a website to act as a central hub for all of my past, current, and future projects. It’s also meant to function as a sort of blog or dumping ground for various writings and thoughts from myself and others! I appreciate you being here. Have fun exploring!

Feeling Inspired

I love when fall comes and rescues me from the delerious stupor of Florida Summer.

It makes everything so much easier. It makes you question how you were surviving before. It feels like coming home, and it feels like you are YOU again.

Anyway, in the interest of transparency and for my own self-documentation I want to lay our what I’ve been working on and what my plans are for all to see. I only ever share these posts with members of the channel, but they are technically public, so here’s what I’ve been up to!

Last Night I Dreamt of Aquanaut's Holiday

Late last night I decided I wanted to stream.

I had gotten my MiSTer set up to run PS1 games and resolved the issue where I wasn’t able to use my Ninja V to record gameplay footage.

With Doshin still heavily on the mind, I had the urge to dive in to Aquanaut’s Holiday. Kazutoshi Iida’s first game for the Playstation.

Holding the original PS1 controller in my hands again for the first time in maybe 20 years felt somewhat nostalgic.

I expected it to be a slow and somewhat boring affair. I expected I would appreciate what it was going f . . .

Making a Game Boss but Forgetting Constraints

Back in December, I asked Carpoon’s composer, Mathew Kirkegaard for new music for a boss I was making, and I said it should only take a couple weeks. But in the end, the boss wasn't finished until the game's 1-year anniversary in August. How did that happen?

Why Make a Boss?

This was something I had wanted to do since the original Carpoon trailer back in 2020, but started in earnest after launch. This boss vehicle represents a deluxe version of what Carpoon could be. While this post is on making the monster truck, I’m going to shift gears later and . . .

In the Wake of Doshin the Giant

Today is the first of fourteen days in a row I will not be featured on Waiting For Nintendo.

I decided a few weeks back that it was time. That I really needed a break.

While Waiting For Nintendo is an admittedly low-effort production, it still takes a considerable amount of time to set up, record, title, thumbnail, schedule, and interact with.

My time lately has been really limited. At least, the time I can spend in a day pursuing some creative goal.

I needed this break.

So far, I've been able to make a lot more progres . . .

The Urban Champion

You could say all the fighting took its toll. I've been quite scatterbrained lately.

I've found it difficult to focus, difficult to plan, and where the way forward is typically clear for me after finishing a project like this -- I've been struggling to ascertain exactly what it is I ought to be doing next.

I've been wanting to make another post on here for a while. Since completing this site, I've hardly used it, which is sad. But I'm here now and so I just want to get a few things off my chest. Think of it as a "public" (no one wi . . .

Well, it's out.

It's been a bit since my last real upload. I wasn't sure how I'd feel after this one. Now that it's out though, I'm reminded of what it's like.

Often the week or two after a big project like this, for me, feels somewhat like a hangover. Low energy. Tension headaches. Low-key depression. Brain fog. An inability to really watch the video myself.

As of now, the video is still 1 of 10, with Getsu Fuuma Den and Rygar close behind. I expect Rygar will pass it soon. Just like with my last few uploads, there was no "second wind" . . .

What Now?

At the very end of last year I uploaded a members-only video to my YouTube channel titled "Changing My Perspective" that went over some thoughts I had regarding the future of my channel and things about myself I believed I needed to work on.

A lot of what I said in that video still rings true. Some of what I touched on has been in-place for a while now. Some of it, I still need to work on.

The first part of this year I had two main focuses. One was giving the "podcast" idea I had a real shot. The other was making the best video I could pos . . .

My Road to Completion of Creating a Video Game

I knew it was only hitting a button in Steam with a single screen prompt after. Leading up to releasing my game, I was tempted to delay again but I thought I had delayed it enough and could make it this time. With Carpoon within the two week window to launch on Steam, there was no turning back and it was time to accomplish my goal of creating a video game.

I started Carpoon with the goal of finishing it to be released. There were many times, especially in university, where I would be making a game and get distracted and stop. I did finish many “game jam” size gam . . .
